What happens during chin implant surgery?

Dr. Greenwald begins this surgery with an incision along the inside of the mouth near the lower lip or in the skin just below the chin. He creates a small pocket in the skin and then inserts a proportionally shaped chin implant into the pocket. The chin is taped shut after surgery to minimize swelling and discomfort and the skin is sutured. Sutures applied externally are removed within seven days, while intra-oral sutures in the mouth dissolve over time.
